It gives me a great pleasure to speak achievements & wonderful job that Kiunga community conservancy has been doing. I convey my sincere acknowledgment of the significant importance of the ongoing collaborative effort that has convened various stakeholders. Moreover, the magnitude of this endeavor cannot be overstated and as a chairperson of Kiunga community conservancy I actually aware of its significance. Moving forward I duly recognize and commended the exemplary partnership existing between the Kenya Wildlife Service and the local community, acknowledging their presence in both Kiunga and Kiwayu. Kiunga Community Conservancy

Kiunga Community Conservancy (KICOCO) is one of the forty- three (43) community conservancies under the umbrella of NRT, located in Lamu county at the northernmost part of the Kenyan coast, bordering Somalia. It operates over an area of approximately 72,000 ha in Kiunga ward complementing KWS within Kiunga Marine National Reserve (KMNR) and parts of Dodori National Reserve. KICOCO was established to improve livelihoods of the local community through conservation through conservation and sustainable use of natural resources
